Privacy Policy
Effective June 11, 2026 · Applies to Uplifting News for iOS version 2.0 and later
The short version: we don't collect your data. The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no trackers.
1. Who we are
Uplifting News is an iOS application published by Matt McWilliam ("we", "us"). It shows a curated feed of positive news stories from established publishers. This policy explains what information is — and is not — handled when you use the app or this website.
2. Data we collect
None. The app does not require or offer user accounts, and it contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs of any kind. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information. The app's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."
3. How the app works
- News feed. The app requests a list of headlines from our server (upliftingnewsapp.com). That request contains no personal information and no identifiers — it is the same for every user.
- Articles and images. Story images and articles load from the original publisher's website. When you open an article, your device connects to that publisher's site directly; their privacy policy governs that visit.
- Reading limits. The free tier's daily article count is stored only on your device. It never leaves your phone.
4. Subscriptions
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your name, email address, or payment details. Apple's handling of that data is described in Apple's privacy policy. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
5. Server logs
Like virtually all web servers, ours keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, request time, requested URL) for security and reliability. These logs are not linked to any identity, are not used for tracking or profiling, and are routinely deleted.
6. Children
The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it collects no information at all.
7. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, we will update this page and the app's App Store privacy label before that version ships.
